Please return Chrissy, she was adopted unfairly to someone else after she accidently got outside.

I adopted Chrissy in 2003, she was an indoor only cat who snuck outside a few times but always came home. She got out June 2011 and lost her way back home. We searched everywhere for her, put up signs and contacted the police but no Chrissy.

On January 16, 2012 the SPCA called me because someone found Chrissy, I was overjoyed!!! Since she had a micro chip that proved ownership to me, the SPCA said they would call me back to discuss getting Chrissy back.

I called them on January 18, 2012 because they didn't call me back. As soon as I inquired about Chrissy they informed me that she was adopted to the person who found her. I was shocked, hurt and mad!

They would only tell me that "I let the cat outside" and they wanted to make sure that "She didn't end back up at the SPCA". Since it isn't against the law in Pennsylvania to let your cat outside I'm not sure why they said that. As for her ending back up at the SPCA, I had her for almost 9 years and she got lost 1 time.

Since then they have refused to give our cat back, we hired a lawyer and are now taking them to Civil Court.

They have to understand that they can not do this to good pet owners! We have fostered and rescued animals and treat all of our pets like our children.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

We the undersigned want you to reconsider your decision about adopting Chrissy to another family. Chrissy's family did nothing but love her and give her a good home, she accidently got outside and lost her way back home. They had her for almost 9 years, she grew up with their other animals in their home.

Chrissy's family have fostered and rescued animals for 2 animal rescues, they are good pet owners and do not deserve to have their beloved Chrissy taken from them.
