BAN Primates as Pets in NC!

The majority of states ban the ownership of primates as pets, or at least require special permits.  Why not North Carolina?

Please introduce legislation what would ban the ownership of primates as pets in North Carolina.  The danger to public safety that many primates posses is significant (just ask Charla Nash), as are the risks to public health from diseases such as Hepatitis, Herpes B and SIV-HIV that can be transmitted from nonhuman primates to humans. While the majority of states do ban the private ownership of primates as pets, currently North Carolinians are not protected.  Please consider this very important public safety concern and introduce a bill to ban primates as pets in North Carolina.  Thanks in advance for any support you might have to offer.
