We the undersigned formally object to any actions taken by the Federal Government on behalf of FEMA and/or the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to restrict or prevent the legal practice of rebating Flood insurance premiums in the State of Florida.
It is legal to rebate Flood insurance premiums in Florida per FL Statute 626.572.
Special Interest Groups are trying to convince the Federal Government and FEMA to supercede existing FL State law by preventing rebating of all Flood insurance premiums in Florida. This action would have an adverse impact to the residents of Florida that are currently enjoying rebates on their Flood insurance premium. This is not only a violation of FL Statute but also a violation of our consumer rights.
Florida residents are the largest purchasers of Flood insurance in the country. We also have one of the most expensive insurance rates anywhere in the US. Residents need every dollar they can save to offset our continually rising insurance costs.
