Arrest "eagle dad" for child abuse
Certainly children need rules and boundaries, but the man who made his four-year-old boy run mostly naked through the snow of a bitter New York winter is more sadist than loving dad.
A man dubbed "eagle dad" by the media has proudly posted a youtube of his son, clad in little more than yellow underpants, being forced to run around outside in the snow. The film shows the boy protesting and crying while an unseen parent keeps shouting directions in Chinese. At one point, dad tells his son to lie down in the snow. A story in The Telegraph reports the father's goal was to make his son, born with several health issues, stronger. Tell the New York Police Department to identify eagle dad and arrest him for child abuse.
It's pretty obvious that eagle dad is one of many "Tiger Mom" copycats who hope to achieve celebrity through abusing their children and then publishing that abuse on the internet. While we recognize that children need rules and boundaries, the needless cruelty of eagle dad is more likely to make his son terrified and insecure than strong and brave.
The boy in the youtube is only four years old. It is far too early in his life to subject him to any militaristic child rearing methods. Please arrest eagle dad and send a message to other New Yorkers that child abuse will not be tolerated.
