Ban candy cigarettes and all candy tobacco products
This petition is to once and for all show the U. S. Congress that people across this country would like to see an end to the sale of all candy tobacco products that are geared towards children. These products are sold throughout the country in candy and specialty stores and should be deemed advertising for the tobacco companies and therefore should be illegal.
We the undersigned respectfully request that the production and distribution of all candy cigarettes/cigar products be permanently halted in the United States.
Candy cigarette products can desensitizes children, leading them to become smokers later in life. Because of this, the selling of candy cigarettes has been banned in several countries including Saudi Arabia, Norway and the Republic of Ireland. It is time to ban them in this country as well. With the FDA now responsible for the oversight of tobacco products it is crucial that you take an active role in restricting such products from USA stores.
It is perfectly clear the reason that those products are still on candy store and specialty shelves throughout the country is to entice young consumers to buy the products and to promote fake smoking.
We need to show our children that smoking of any kind should not be emulated and is not something that should be taken lightly.
