Ban Pigeon Shoots in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is the only state that currently allows shooting pigeons for target practice !

Pigeon shoots are competitions where hundreds to thousands of live birds are shot at to win prizes. A typical 3-day shoot contest can kill and injure up to 15,000 birds. Captive pigeons are launched from box traps or tethered in place and shot in the name of %u201Dtradition%u201D. The birds are generally dazed and suffering from dehydration or starvation as they are sprung out of the boxes. Most of these animals are do not die immediately, but are left to suffer from the shot wound. Extremist members of the National Rifle Association are defending Pennsylvania's tolerance for the practice of shooting launched live pigeons for target practice by that it is a tradition.


Urge Pennsylvania's Legislature to ban cruel pigeon shoots !
