We are fighting to bring our baby girl home from Guatemala. Sadly we missed the deadline set by the Guatemalan government to be grandfathered in under the old adoption laws by just 10 days. So our case remains in limbo with no real laws in place yet. The US government says they remain committed to helping families in our situation, but we have not seen any real progress from them.
As we wait for Guatemala to get a new system in place for international adoptions, our baby sits in foster care 2,000 miles away from a mommy and daddy that love her.
Recently we hired a new attorney and the the Guatemala government agreed to hear our case. We want to bring this petition on our next visit trip to show them how committed we are to our daughter and that we will never give up on bringing her home.
