We, citizens of the United States of America, call on Rep. Joe Wilson (R - S.C.) to step down from his Congressional House Seat in response to his interrupting President Barack Obama during his address to a joint session of Congress. Representative Wilson's outburst accusing the President of the United States of lying, was reckless, inappropriate and most of all, disrespectful. President Obama's defining speech addressing a subject in which he acknowledged the need for a constructive debate and Wilson's un precedented outburst, which was viewed by millions around the world, was dangerously irresponsible. While the framework of the US government is based upon discussion and constructive disagreement, it should be done so with respect to the graveness and seriousness of the issues at hand. Wilson has chosen to dishonorably represent himself, his party and the people of South Carolina's Second District, he should be held responsible. We must set an example that it is absolutely unacceptable to disrespect The Office of the President and the person on the floor of Congress. Today, we petition his voluntary resignation.
