Carlisle Airport UK - Public Inquiry

Carlisle Airport - the planning application to develop the airport at Carlisle should be considered by a Public Inquiry on the following grounds
1. The Planning Authority (Carlisle City Council) owns the airport, therefore its impartiality is compromised.
2. The impact on the Environment
3. The impact on Hadrian's Wall which runs near the boundary of the airport. This is a World Heritage site.
4. The impact on an SSSI within the airport boundary.
5. Current discussions are not open to the public and any queries are met with 'stonewalling'.
6. A Public Inquiry would ensure 'fair play' for all and allow the electorate to air their views in an impartial forum.
