Certfied Nursing Assistant Relief

The State of Georgia requires nursing assistants to take and written and skills exam before they can be certified to work.  It is a very stressful process.  I feel the skills part should be eliminated... or at least somehow be redone....
Why can't skills be checked on a written test format???
They go to school to learn how to safely care for the residents in long term care facilities. They are checked off in class and they do clinical time in long term care facilities.  But, it causes much stress to have to perform skills in front of these evaluators.
As a Registered Nurse, I was not required to perfom anything as required by the state.  It required only a written exam.  I don't know of any profession-medically- that requires skill check offs.
I feel this skills checkoff, is causing the loss of the much needed Certified Nursing Assistants.
I also feel we need to keep our $$ in GA.... since the program is contracted with NACES- which is located in Texas and Pearson Vue- located in PA.
