Child pleads to keep her bunny

This is a petition asking that the Titusville Board of Health reconsider their ruling that Sonia J. Farley and her family are not allowed to keep their family pets. Namely, one dwarf rabbit and one chicken. They were within the guidelines of the city ordinances and were not creating a public nusiance, yet they were denied a permit and forced to get rid of their pets. The city zoning officer stated that the house and yard were clean and free from offensive odors. There are other citizens of this town that are allowed to keep chickens, rabbits and even pet pigs. Why was this family singled out?
We the undersigned do hereby request that you reconsider your decision to deny this family a permit to keep their pets. They were complying with the city ordinance and were not bothering anyone. What is the harm in having a slightly unusual pet? A chicken is no worse than a parrot or cockatoo and a rabbit is no different than a guinea pig or pet rat. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
