Show support to slow down the spread of HIV

There are three randomised controlled circumcision studies. The studies were done in Uganda (in Rakai), Kenya (in Kisumu) and South Africa (at Orange Farm). The findings were published in the respected Lancet medical journal.

What studies showed is that circumcision reduces by about 60 per cent the chance of men acquiring HIV- the virus that causes Aids. And what the scientists found was that circumcision may help to protect against HIV by removing cells in the foreskin to which the virus is specifically attracted. Called Langerhans cells, they display receptors that enable HIV entry.

What we need to do is show support for this medically proven step which has been proven to help slow the spread of the HIV virus.  Too often, many people are voicing fears through ignorance of the facts that this can help.
We the undersigned are asking you to continue the good fight to help prevent the spread of the HIV virus through medically proven studies regarding male circumcision.

Thank you for your attention on this important matter for world health.
