Don't Let an Abuser Use the Legal System to Continue Abuse

I was married to a controlling, abusive man for nearly 11 years. We have 4 children together. In 2003, I had our last child which led to several physical and mental problems. I was eventually put on Social Security disability.
However, during the time before I was approved for my Disability, my ex moved another woman into the home while I was still living in the home with our children.
He used my disabilities and the legal system to force me to move out from the home with nowhere to go, and denied me the right to have contact with my children.
He denied me my visitation rights to my children if I didn't comply to his every whim. Up to and including having me put in jail for 60 days the day before Thanksgiving 2007. He has threatened my well being and has done this over and over. Unless something is done, he will continue trying to maintain control over me by using our children as weapons.
We the undersigned plead for the Governor of South Carolina to take a look at this very important issue. We would like the to be a law which prevents abusive, adulterous husbands from attempting to use the legal system against the very ones they abused simply based on the fact that the wife has disabilities.
