Encuentro Libre- save unhindered public access

Unhindered public access to Playa Encuentro and the Camino Viejo is being threatened by recent events.The privatization of the Dominican Republic\'s beaches is a very serious problem. As you know Encuentro is home to 5 consistent and world class surf spots: Destroyer, The Left, The Right, Bobo\'s Beach & Coco Pipe. If we loose public access it would be a disaster for all Dominicans and the tourists that are a vital part of the Dominican economy.Encuentro works with any size & swell direction and in addition to the wave's quality, it is the most consistent stretch of coast in the Caribbean if not the world. Encuentro is also home to various horse riding trails, a world class wave jumping spot for Kitesurfers & Windsurfers, a meeting place for kids & families on weekends & also a great diving reef, this is not only a surfing issue it is a people's right issue and concerns us all.

We are organizing this petition to make competent authorities aware of the problem and request that they uphold their mandate and keep public access to Playa Encuentro open to all.
