Ask Senator McCain to Go Positive

Republican Presidential nominee John McCain has gone increasingly negative in his campaign, resulting in a rise in disturbing remarks from rally supporters and diversion from issues critical to the nation. Regardless of whether you support the senator or his opponent, Barack Obama, the current tenor of the McCain campaign casts a pall over the political process.

Ask the senator to finish out the race to the White House by taking the high road. As a respected member of both the Senate and military he has the opportunity to restore recently lost credibility and do his part to help heal a nation that's become increasingly divided in recent weeks.
Dear Senator McCain,

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that you rise above the negative tactics that have increasingly characterized your campaign. As you yourself have seen, they've helped incite repugnant behavior from some of your supporters, creating a potentially dangerous atmosphere.

Instead we ask that you campaign on your record as a U.S. Senator and decorated member of the military, as well as on your vision for the future of America. You have the opportunity to rise above the current climate, right now, and in doing so quell the disturbing tide rising within a segment of your supporters.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
