Allow peaceful expression in Bahrain on February 14th
On the 14th February 2011 Bahraini citizens gathered peacefully together at the Lulu (Pearl) Roundabout to campaign for political reform and greater respect of human rights.
Unfortunately this uprising was met with excessive force by security forces and unnecessary bloodshed.
As the people return to the roundabout on 14th February this year to mark the anniversary of the uprising, we do not want to see a repeat of the violence. People should have the right to demonstrate peacefully.
Please sign this petition to ask the Bahraini government to respect this right, to encourage peaceful activities and to refrain from the use of unnecessary force.
We the undersigned request that you might advise your security forces to act with the utmost restraint, to avoid using unnecessary force, and to encourage peaceful expression at the Lulu Roundabout on February 14th this year on the anniversary of the popular uprising. We do not want to see any more unneccessary bloodshed and we are hoping for a more peaceful future in Bahrain based on respect for all its people.
Thank you for your consideration.
