Green Theater

Moving towards eco-friendly solutions for all aspects of theatrical productions.
Mr. Marshall:

We the undersigned would like to encourage you to implement eco-friendly policies in the realm of theater and dance. Climate change is a scientifically proven phenomenon that is affecting us all. In our homes, we are changing light bulbs, recycling, purchasing organic food. As students and colleagues, we are eager to see this trend affect our work places.

Investigating alternatives will be the first step: LED lighting, lumber recycling facilities ("Wood Resource Recovery" for example), as well as energy saving strategies are excellent possibilities. Long term strategies might include working with the LEED certification system, locally sourcing raw materials, and even installing an under-slab drainage system. Implementing these will be the next step, and the true mark of a progressive leader.

There are concerns in every facet of the department. It is not our intention to point fingers or place unduly burdens on the fantastic faculty and staff. As students and members of the community, we are eager to see these changes and will work personally in whatever capacity necessary to do our parts.

Mr. Marshall, we sincerely thank you for your time and consideration.
