Help Sanctuaries Rescue Thousands of Hens Left to Starve

In Stanislaus County, California, an estimated 50,000 hens were left without feed at an egg farm for over two weeks. A third of the hens died of starvation, and Stanislaus Animal Services plans to euthanize the rest.

Animal sanctuaries are trying to rescue the surviving birds, but Animal Services is blocking them. The hens, which have already been cruelly treated, are being left for dead, even though two sanctuaries are ready to take them in.

Act now to tell Stanislaus Animal Services to allow the sanctuaries to rescue the birds and nurse them back to health.
We the undersigned urge you to allow animal sanctuaries to rescue the thousands of birds that survived being left at A&L Poultry without feed.

Animal Place and Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary are both prepared to take in the hens, but report that Animal Services has blocked them from rescuing the birds.

We call on you to give the sanctuaries access to the hens, which have already been cruelly treated, rather than euthanizing the birds.

Thank you for attention to this important matter.
