Helpless animals beg for justice

People in Bulgaria are horrified by the case of the extremely cruel and sadistic behavior of a man who breeds snakes and feeds them with puppies and kittens. His name is Evgeni Andreev, but he calls himself Evgeni Aspidov - the name comes from the family Elapidae (bg. Aspidi) snakes.

He deceives pets' owners that he is adopting the cubs - vaccinated and deloused, telling them they are a present for his girlfriend, promising good care and loving attitude. After the animal is already in his hands he goes home and puts the little puppy or kitten in the terrarium where the snakes bite it to death. If the animal is too big for the snakes to swallow at once, he hacks it up.

The most terrifying of all is the pleasure he gets doing this - singing mocking songs with sadistic content to the dying animals while they are agonizing, making videos and publishing them on the internet.

His own words describe him best:
"Hei people don't worry! When they become enough big (his snakes) I'll stop to feed them with animal....then I'll begin with humans... hahaha..."

"Well, however pity it is for you there are no laws to defend these creatures so such ruthless monsters like me are going to slaughter them in various brutal ways. I can't even describe how good I feel to look at a homeless dog's eyes full of terror before I kill it, it gives me indescribable pleasure. If the laws for you - homeless dogs' defenders - were the same, I would slaughter you too - not of hatred but for pleasure." (translated by the author)

WRONG - there ARE laws to defend these animals!

Help us persuade Bulgarian authorities that he is a criminal. The maximum penalty for such a crime is 1000-2000BGN (500-1000EUR), it is far lower than we think it should be and nobody ever has been accused. Let him be the first! We insist on introduction and execution of efficient changes in the Bulgarian Animal Welfare Law. Do not let such cruelty stay unpunished!
