I support filing a class action lawsuit against journalist who misrepresent the facts

Let's Make An Example Out of Them

How are the mega moguls of news able to get away with smearing President Obama as being a huckster and con artist masquerading as a citizen despite clear evidence to the contrary?

Because we let them.

As off the wall and bizarre as it seems to some of us to engage in constant questioning of something as easy to prove as one's citizenship, the danger that Faux news and even CNN are whipping up racial and political tension is real.

I would usually suggest that we let it takes its course, let them toss and turn and seethe and sulk until cancer or heart disease has the last word, but the reality is hurt people hurt people.

Henry Louis Gates isn't the only innocent man being racially profiled. A surge of harassment of black men has been reported and ensuing violence is a very real possibility.

With constant stoking of rage, hatred, loss of %u201Cpower%u201D and a sense of helplessness, lashing out is an assured consequence.

Censorship is not usually something people in this country see as the ultimate solution, after all, most of us are taught that we have a right to free speech not long after we're able to put our first sentence together.

And President Obama is safe, behind a wall of government funded protection. What is lacking is a sense of productive outrage by ordinary citizens fed up with slander by %u201Cjournalist%u201D who day after day incite the very people who kill abortion doctors because they believe in a %u201Cright to life%u201D while millions of children go hungry and sit without parents in foster care.

So I propose a solution. Let's make an example out of these high profile birthers. If just one percent of the people who voted for Obama, about 4 million people, donate a mere 5 dollars to a legal advocacy that would file a class action lawsuit on our behalf we could raise 20 million dollars.

With 20 million dollars Dobbs, CNN, Faux, and any other media outlet that peddles opinion and propaganda as facts, will somehow find it within themselves to check their sources and report only what can be confirmed. All else should be related as the opinion and only the opinion of the pundit, period.

It won't take 20 million dollars to finally get media integrity once and for all; some money will surely be left over.

With the rest of the funding donors can vote on pouring resources on causes they believe in, like paying off student loans for students helping release innocent people from prison or testing DNA in questionable death penalty cases.

We don't have to sit idly by and let high paid slanderers squander precious air time, endangering innocent people's lives. With 5 dollars from a fraction of us we can revolutionize journalism and make a make a real difference. Click here to sign the petition. Updates on attorneys interested in taking the case will be coming up.
