Inaccurate "aggressive breed" stigma

Some people are denied an insurance policy on their home, due to the fact that they own a rottweiler or doberman pinscher. When, in fact, is that not the best form of protection of your assets? The problem is not the dogs, it is the owner & most always a lack of training. Instead of banning these wonderful animals, we should insist on certitfied training, insurance on the dog,  or something along those lines. Apartments have turned down my Australian Shepherd mix due to the German Shepherd stigma, yet police officers seem to be able to train them easily. How many of you have been bitten by a dachshund, chihuahua or jack russel terrier? Having worked in the veterinary field for over 3 years, I constantly came across alerts on charts indicating "WILL BITE!". Never once was it a Rottweiler or Pitbull, always the smaller ones. Yet we don't see them on any list. See for yourself what wonderful companions these larger breeds make & let's do away with this unfairness.
