While the Super Bowl is a sporting event, it has also become an immensely popular entertainment spectacle. The Super Bowl Halftime Show attracts viewers worldwide, even those who have little interest and/or knowledge in football itself, but hope for a great show by a top mainstream artist.
One such group of artists is Journey, ranking among the world's greatest and most dynamic rock bands. They are a band with whom many football and music enthusiasts can connect, and deserves the honor of entertaining spectators in attendance, folks at home, and boost viewership for advertisers. Only one band resonates with the largest possible demographic, from children to parents to grandparents; a band whose rock anthem Don't Stop Believin' has become the most downloaded piece in the history of iTunes, keeping them hugely popular and relevant across three decades.
An NFL team-up with Journey in 2012 will bring together the beloved American rock band and the true American tradition of football.
