Let Ikea Factory Workers Unionize

Many people love Ikea for its stylish and affordable Scandinavian design. But its affordability partly comes at the expense of workers at its only U.S.-based factory. Workers in Danville, Virginia complain of racial discrimination, poor wages, mandatory overtime, frozen raises and an overall grueling atmosphere.

Join in calling on Ikea to allow its workers in Danville to unionize.

Factory workers in Ikea's native Sweden enjoy all the benefits of unionization, including high wages and 5 weeks of mandatory vacation time. Executives in Danville, however, have been hostile towards unionization. They've hired a notoriously anti-union law firm and force workers to attend anti-union meetings.

Ikea factory workers in the United States deserve the same treatment that their Swedish counterparts receive. Sign the petition asking Ikea executives to let all its workers, including those in Danville, unionize.
Factory workers at your Swedwood plant in Danville, Virginia complain of racial discrimination, poor wages, mandatory overtime, frozen raises and an overall grueling atmosphere.

Despite these poor working conditions, their efforts to unionize have not been received well.

We applaud the rights you afford your factory workers in Europe and we respectfully ask that you extend the same rights to workers in the United States.
