LET THE WILL OF GOD AND THAT OF THE PEOPLE BE. (ZIMBABWE)

Dear Sir,

LET THE WILL OF GOD AND THAT OF THE PEOPLE BE.

We bring greetings from all the good people of Romania and peace loving students and professors of the University of Bucharest. We have been following the recent political stalemate in your country after the recent presidential and parliamentary elections.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that leaders worldwide who, for various reasons, do not heed to the voices of their people, are always remembered by history as malevolent regardless of their good intentions. This was the fate of the late Samuel Doe of Liberia, the late Saddam Hussein of Iraq and the late Mobutu Seseseco of Zaire.

We think the African continent could benefit from your experience even after you have retired willingly from office and in this context we strongly add our voice to that of others who accept the fact and reality that you would be wise to step down while the ovation is loud. It is not our desire too see the stalemate degenerate into a situation such as that in Kenya where over 1,000 lives were lost before the political actors came to the negotiating table.

May God give you the wisdom you need during this critical time in the history of your nation! We look forward to shaking your hand some day, God willing!

We thank you for taking the time to read our friendly request.

Yours respectfully,
