Make Rt. 53 North and Interstate 90 west bound Safer!

Merging onto rt 53 north and exiting onto the I-90 westbound ramp is extremely dangerous. This is largely in part due to northbound drivers who choose not to merge into the right hand exit lane until the last minute. State and local police have not been present there to witness this within the last 5 years I have been driving that route. I am at that intersection Monday - Friday in the evening and the risk and danger of that transition is easily observed by anyone traveling through that area. The Northbound exit lane needs to be cut down into single file much earlier to avoid cars crossing paths on this overpass. Here is a link to the most recent accident that occurred due to the poor planning of this road. There is no reason the express lanes going north can not be expanded to include the 2 lanes to the right, narrowing the lanes of cars that are exiting to the tollway.  95% of the vehicles that are in the non-express lanes are getting off to travel west on I-90.

During a recent construction project here some months ago, that was how the lanes were set up and the road flowed well, asd safe. I want to forward this onto IDOT and make a change, please sign the petition and help make this road a safer soon.
