Move the Kop to the North Stand

Okay, where do i start. I went to the meeting on Saturday with Peter Jones to discuss the possibilities and problems that moving the Kop would cause. There were two main reasons for not moving the Kop, these were:

1) The police bill would be too high (they are trying to reduce it as it is).

2) Season Ticket Holders wouldn't want to move.

The first point is fair enough, but the argument i would use against it is that if we moved the Kop, im pretty sure that would increase the attendance thus increasing revenue and making the police bill payable.

For the second point i would argue... 'If you don't want to move, no-ones forcing you to, just make sure you get behind the team!'.

Basically the club didn't condemn the idea but they didn't seem too interested, what we need to do is keep rallying the support and get this issue more publicity. We are planning another meeting around December time and hopefully by then there will be more of a buzz.

I have been in contacted by the people who set up the 'Singing Section' and they are supporting us in this bid.  If worst comes to worst and the club decide we cannot move the Kop, the only other option is for everyone who signs this petition to get a season ticket in the North Stand next season and it will be fan power that manages to change the Kop to the North Stand!

This petition has been started because many City fans have expressed their desire to have a better atmosphere at the Walkers Stadium.
 
Many of us feel as though the atmosphere at the Walkers Stadium is not as good as it was at our old home, Filbert Street. We believe this is because the Kop is not next to the away fans, which creates the electric atmosphere, as it was at Filbo. So this petition is to move the Kop to the North Stand to be next to the away supporters and try to re-ignite the atmosphere that would make the Walkers Stadium an intimidating place for teams to come to.  

After many discussions on the topic of making the atmosphere better we came to the conclusions that this would be thes best option (rather than to move the away supporters next to the Kop) because of safety reasons and with their being better facilities for dealing with any unlikely trouble down the North end of the Stadium.

So we ask many of you Foxes to put your thoughts down in a petition that we believe will be heard. When we have enough signitures we will present this petition to Leicester Chairman Milan Mandaric to see if we can sit down and discuss this issue further and come to some sort of agreement. If this eventually does get put to Milan i shall be asking a select few of you fans to join me in the possible meeting so we have a few different views on the issue.

I'm also looking into the idea of a 'Safe Standing Area' in the NEW Kop (North Stand) so we are not told to sit down every two seconds which can only help us get behind the team more. What are everyones views on this? Is it a good idea?
