We the residents of Mahwah and bordering communities urge the Mayor and Council to vote "NO" on ordinance numbers 1684, 1686 and 1687 to rezone the Sheraton Crossroads property to retail space.
The developers want to build a 750,000 square foot shopping mall including 600,000 square feet of retail space and 150,000 square feet of hotel/office space.
This mall will bring crime, traffic, pollution and congestion.
This mall will create massive traffic jams along Route 17 and our local roads.
It is expected to bring an additional volume of 20,000 cars per day.
A mall at the Mahwah Crossroads will have a detrimental effect on local residents by clogging local roads with many more cars and delivery trucks.
When the Mahwah Mall opens It will be a blow to local businesses and result in many empty shops along our main streets.
It will destroy our quality of life and change the landscape of Mahwah forever!
Please sign this petition to object to ordinance numbers 1684, 1686 and 1687 to create a mall at the Mahwah Crossroads. This petition will be presented to the Mayor and Town Council at the next Council Meeting in March.
