NO SHOOTING ON ILKLEY MOOR

Bradford Metropolitan Council have given authorisation for grouse shooting to return to the iconic, and publicly owned, Ilkley Moor. The shooting industry is cruel, barbaric and only carried out for the entertainment of those involved. Birds are shot out of the sky and due to their flight speeds reaching up to 70 mph a clean kill is difficult. As a result, many birds are still alive following being shot. On grouse moors, predator animals are trapped and killed in barbaric Fenn Traps which clasp shut on animals%u2019 leg so they cannot escape - many gnaw their own limbs off to get away or die of starvation. We, the undersigned, call upon Bradford Metropolitan Council to ban grouse shooting on Ilkley Moor.
