Stop the Installation of Tree Guards Along Pico

Councilman Wesson's office is proposing the installation of tree guards along Pico Boulevard between Fairfax & La Brea.

Similar tree guards were recently installed along Washington Boulevard (see photo to the left) and the surrounding community is very unhappy with them because they have become magnets for graffiti.

We applaud Councilman Wesson's interest in beautification efforts for Pico, but we believe funding should be allocated to more beneficial projects such as repair of curbs and sidewalks, replacement of dead or non-thriving street trees, installation of landscaped medians, etc.

By signing this petition you will be adding your voice to the number of people objecting to this project.

Thank you.
We the undersigned oppose the installation of tree guards along Pico Blvd. between La Cienega & LaBrea Blvd., in Los Angeles, CA.

Although we applaud CD10's interest in beautification efforts for Pico Blvd, we do not like the aesthetic of tree guards and would rather see the use of these funds directed toward other beautification or safety projects for our area.  Such projects include, but are not limited to, curb repair, surveillance cameras, tree replacement along Pico with sycamores and golden crowns,  mulching and planting, etc.

Thank you.
