Resign, Mayor Kilpatrick
"Absolutely not," he said. "I don't understand when people say 'resign.'" - Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick, City of Detroit, February 28, 2008 on WWJ

We, the undersigned, are asking for the resignation of the mayor of Detroit, Kwame M. Kilpatrick.
We, the undersigned, believe men should become leaders because they are accountable and responsible; we do NOT believe that men should become accountable and responsible because they are leaders.
We, the undersigned, hold Kwame Kilpatrick to his promise of accountability and responsibility; we demand that Kwame Kilpatrick acknowledge that, because of his own violations of the City of Detroit Charter, he is unfit to represent our great city; we demand that Kwame Kilpatrick take responsibility for his actions and hold himself accountable by resigning his seat as the mayor of Detroit; furthermore, we demand that Kwame Kilpatrick issue the long-overdue, public apology to former police department employees, Gary Brown, Harold Nelthorpe and Walter Harris for the accusations he wrongfully hurled at them in order to further his political career. We also demand that Kwame Kilpatrick issue the long-overdue, public apology to the citizens of Detroit for engaging in questionable and criminally offensive behavior as during his tenure as the mayor of the City of Detroit.
Sincerely,
