Why is the prosecutor of the ICC indicting
President Al-Bashir whilst
ignoring crimes committed by George Bush and Tony Blair. Have you forgotten the
WMD deception and the
manipulation of the UN that led to the invasion of Iraq?
Now the same trick is being played again. This time, the buzz word is "GENOCIDE". The role of UN weapon inspectors in Iraq is played by
Luis Moreno Ocampo, the prosecutor of the ICC, and the intended victims are the Sudanese people.
Why should we listen to a prosecutor who
conceals evidence that does not point to his ill judged and preconceived ideas?
Mr. Ocampo is accused of grossly mishandling the Thomas Lubanga case an alleged Congolese warlord by withholding relevant evidence from the defense. As a result, the trial was halted by the judges. The prosecutor has also been accused of sexual misconduct with a South African reporter. In response, Mr. Ocampo sacked his staff member who reported the claim in a complete breach of process in which the ICC was later made to pay compensation to the staff member.

This indictment, we believe, threatens to destabilize the country and the region at large and hinders the search for peace in Darfur. We do not believe this indictment will serve the best interests of the people of Sudan. We believe the indictment can prolong the conflict and the suffering of the people of Darfur.
