Repeal Georgia Blue Laws

This petition is intended to show citizen's voice that Georgia's "Blue Laws" should be repealed.  In addition, it is the opinion of each undersigner that local municipalities should decide whether beer, wine and liquor sales on Sunday are in each's best interests.

It is the opinion of each undersigned that none of these laws has anything to do with drinking and driving or alcohol abuse. They have everything to do with the fact that, cosmopolitan metro Atlanta aside, Georgia is a conservative, Bible-belt state. Legislators see progressive change to these laws as politically dangerous.

The Sunday sales ban is most irritating to citizens and detrimental to Georgia tourism. It's a "blue law," which exists only because religious Christians think it isn't right to drink on Sunday, when people should be in church.
