Is a Cemetery not Sacred? Is it alright to desecrate graves with debris from a fireworks display? Is it alright to show disrespect of the family's feelings who have loved ones buried in a cemetary? If you feel it is wrong to have set fireworks up and then set them off from a cemetary....this has happened...please sign our petition. Cemeteries are a place of rest not a place of party!! As of earlier this week the city of Charleston has stated they will not be party to the fireworks being released from the cemetery nxt year.....it should be noted that the city owned cemetery Spring Hill was approached but declined to have the fireworks to be allowed to be set off from there location that is when the privately owned Mt. View was approached .....the "owners" of this privately owned section have stated in the paper they did not know it would offend others and they would not have okayed if they knew then what the response is now....HINDSIGHT....if only the whole world could do this....I do appreciate all the signatures and I will continue to leave this petition open as a reminder that some do respect and honor those that have gone before!!!
