Save Teresa Lewis from execution
Teresa Lewis is the only woman on Virginia%u2019s death row. No woman has been executed in Virginia since 1912. Without your help, Teresa will die on September 23, 2010.
Teresa is a mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She believes deeply in her Christian faith. And for the last 7 years in prison, she has been a model prisoner and an example of faith and courage.
Teresa quickly accepted responsibility for her actions, cooperated with the police, turned in the triggermen who did the killings, and pled guilty to her role in the killings. She knows what she did was wrong and she deeply regrets it. She knows that if her death sentence is overturned she will be imprisoned for the rest of her natural life for her crime.
Teresa does not deserve to be executed. The two men who actually did the killings were NOT sentenced to death. The judge sentenced Teresa to death because he thought she was the mastermind of the killings. But she wasn%u2019t, and she couldn%u2019t have been. She is on the borderline of mental retardation with an IQ just above 70, and at the time of the killings she was suffering from other disabilities that clouded her judgment. Read on. I am writing to ask you to please commute Teresa Lewis's sentence to life in prison from a death sentence. Both of the trigger men in the case received life and not the death penalty.
