Save the 7

AC Transit has proposed major cutbacks to bus service on a number of lines, including the 7, which runs between Rockridge BART and El Cerrito del Norte BART. Under the proposed changes, frequency would be reduced between El Cerrito del Norte BART and Solano Ave. & The Alameda to one bus every 40 minutes during the commute period and one bus every 60 minutes at all other times. Frequency would be unchanged between Rockridge BART and Solano Ave. & The Alameda. Service hours would be reduced by 1 hour in evening.

Residents of the communities located on the portion of the route between El Cerrito del Norte BART and Solano Ave. & The Alameda would be drastically affected by these changes. While many parts of the AC Transit system are served by more than one bus line, we have no other option. The 7 bus is the only form of public transportation available to residents of these neighborhoods.

By signing this petition, we are letting AC Transit know that we rely on the 7 bus, and we don't want service to our communities to be cut.

This petition will be submitted to AC Transit to make sure that the voices of those affected by these proposed changes are heard.
