Son, Father, Husband, Hero: Santa Fe Native Leroy A. Petry's Path to the Medal of Honor

I believe in this hurried world we take too little time to remember the sacrifices by those who are sent to fight in the wars of the United States. I ask that for this man who has shown not only exceptional bravery but courage under fire that goes well beyond his duties; we all sign a letter of thanks. In doing so let us hope to show our deep appreciation of his efforts. Let this letter also carry to all of our soldiers currently away from home, our appreciation and our deep concern for their welfare.

You honor all of us through your valiant bravery and your outstanding contributions to this country by your personal efforts. Each person signing this letter wishes to express their own debt of thanks to you and to your fellow soldiers in uniform for their sacrifices for our country. We deeply appreciate your efforts and devotion to this country. We send our love and best wishes for the swift and safe return of all those serving the United States of America.
