CT Senate Bill No.172- Breast Density Information

We the concerned citizens for Early Detection of Breast Cancer from the State of CT support the immediate passing of SB- 172.

The purpose of SB- 172 is to provide information to patients about breast density for the early identification of breast cancer. Women who have dense breast tissue are at a 4-6 times greater risk of developing breast cancer. Breast density is one of the strongest predictors of the failure of mammography screening to detect cancer. 

Supplementing mammograms with ultrasounds for women with dense
breast tissue increases detection from 48% to 97%.

CT SB-172 -AN ACT REQUIRING COMMUNICATION OF MAMMOGRAPHIC BREAST DENSITY INFORMATION TO PATIENTS will empower patients and help save lives. Residents of CT are asked to add the Town they reside in under comments for greater impact with their legislators.
