Stop DSHS from Closing Homes for People with Developmental Disabilities

Washington State Governor Gregoire wants to close our RHCs (Residential Habilitation Centers).  These state operated homes provide specialized care to persons with profound autism and other severe developmental disabilities.

The five RHCs across the state have been a vital part of our communities for many years, and are the only safety net for people with the most challenging disabilities. Now, DSHS secretary Susan Dreyfus is saying that due to budget cuts, these excellent centers must be closed, starting with the Frances Haddon Morgan Center in Bremerton. The fact is, relocating the residents and providing services they already have, will cost the state more, not less.

Don't allow our legislature to traumatize the developmentally disabled by moving them out of their safe and familiar environment.
