Stop The Moon Bomb

I'm going to make this short and sweet.

NASA's Plans:
"MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. %u2013 NASA is inviting journalists to events this week in Washington and California to observe the twin impacts of the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite, or LCROSS, and its rocket's upper stage as they impact the moon. The goal of the mission is to search for water ice on the moon."

The "twin impacts" are "the LCROSS Centaur upper stage rocket and four minutes later, the impact of the LCROSS Shepherding Spacecraft into Cabeus crater near the moon%u2019s south pole," for traces of water ice. The goal is to send debris to the Shepherding Spacecraft where it is scanned back to earth with its findings, if any, water ice is on the moon.

My concern does not lie in our ability to have "space war," but rather, my concern lies in the well-being of our Earth. There are many small things that must happen 24/7 for our Earth to function properly, one of the major thing being our Moon at a precise distance from earth. If we were to move the Moon so much as 1 INCH, we could change life as we know it. And to say that small of a distance would not hurt our eco-system is nothing more than a scientific guess... we do NOT know what impacting the moon will do to us, as we have no scientific evidence to prove otherwise. It's never been done before!!

I could go on forever about what the moon does for us, but if you don't believe me, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon and find out for yourselves.

I also believe that if we've landed on the moon, we could try other alternatives to discover water ice on the moon other than sending two large impacts at it.

NASA is putting our lives at risk, all 6.7 billion of us. It's one thing to play Russian Roulette as an individual by choice, but when NASA holds a gun to each of our heads without a clue if the next round holds a bullet or not, without our permission, is stripping us of our natural rights to live. If by chance this does nothing to our world, than so be it. But the consequences of altering our eco-system are far greater than the discovery of water ice on the moon.

Is it worth risking our life as we know it for water ice?

NASA has NO proof that sending two impacts will not move the Moon out of its natural orbit around our Earth. To me, if that twin impact moved the Moon 1mm, the experiment is not worth it. This is NOT our choice, this is a team of several NASA scientists and people with a lot of money.

Speak up and let your voice be heard... STOP THE MOON BOMB!

We have 1 day and 20hrs left to end this dangerous scientific experiment... what are you going to do?
We the undersigned, and the remainder of the 6.7billion people around the world, are concerned for our Earth.

On October 9, 2009 NASA plans on sending twin impacts to the south pole region of the moon to discover water ice. We believe that this is a foolish scientific experiment that does not have the proper scientific backing to prove that this will not harm life as we know it.

We want this Moon Bombing experiment to be stopped! With no prior scientific evidence to show that these impacts will not alter the orbit of the moon, push the moon further away from the Earth, or send unknown particles back to Earth that could potentially disturb our eco-system is irresponsible to all of man-kind.

It is one thing to pass a bill for a new tax, it is another to try and provide our people with a healthcare system to cover all citizens, but it is something outrageous to risk the lives of our world for a scientific experiment. And I, for one, will not stand quiet as several NASA scientists backed by billions of dollars do something that risks the lives of 6.7billion people.

With that said, this is our petition to Stop The Moon Bombing!

Thank you for your time.
