Stop The Philippines' Illegal Dog Meat Trade

Representatives from Humane Society International and Network for Animals (NFA) traveled to the Philippines to learn the extent of the ongoing illegal commercial trade in dog meat and to meet with officials and local animal welfare organizations to help put an end to it. While there, they were involved in a seizure of nearly 100 dogs stuffed into a cage in the back of a truck.

While the dog meat industry in the Philippines is generally isolated to one region in the North, it involves a national underground network of traders, drivers, and scouts to get the dogs from source to slaughter. Approximately 500,000 dogs fall victim to this trade every year. This needs to be stopped!
