Stop Wacker's Pet Shop from selling puppies!
Wackers Pet Shop is based on the Long Mile Road in Dublin 12. They sell puppies along with exotics. Numerous people who have purchased their pets from this store have not received any sort of paper work verifiying where they come from, who the breeder is, what vaccinations they have received, or any veterinary health check records. On requesting them several times, the staff have tried to put them off or insist that they dont need them. Why?
When buying a puppy it is imperative that you always check vaccination certificates carefully. A reputable breeder is only delighted to show you any certificates or paperwork for their animal. However, some stores like Wackers do not offer any paperwork for their animals. Why? If something seems suspicious, walk away.
Reputable and responsible breeders do not sell their puppies to dealers or petshops. They want to meet the potential owners to check that they are the right person for the dog. They want to ensure that the animal is going to a good home where the owner realises the responsibilities owning a dog brings. Some will even request a home check and rightly so as it is important that a dog has a back garden to run around in and plenty of space.
It is also important before buying a puppy that you see the animal with its mother, in the environment where it was born. Its important to see that the parents of your pup are healthy and in good condition and of good temperment.
None of these are available at petstores.
Please boycott Wackers! Do not buy puppies from a store that cannot even supply you with correct paperwork showing their history, where they come from or health certificates showing that they are in good health.
