Tell Uganda: Stop Anti-Homosexuality Bill!

Ugandan Parliament reintroduced appalling legislation that would brutally criminalize homosexuality and possibly the association of gay Ugandans.

The Anti-Homosexuality Bill calls for the death penalty for those who are convicted of "aggravated homosexuality", or having sex with an HIV positive man or woman. Having sex with a person of the same sex warrants life imprisonment under the bill.

While land lords could face a seven-year prison term for housing gays, anyone who "aids, abets, counsels or procures another to engage of acts of homosexuality" could face the me sentence.

David Bahati, the parliamentarian who first introduced the bill in 2009, has called homosexuality "the dangers to our children."

While countries have threatened to cut off aid to Uganda if the bill passes, Ugandan opinion polls have showed high support for the bill due to the extreme stigma of homosexuality in Uganda.

Such horrific discrimination should have no place in this world.

Tell Ugandan President Museveni: Stop the Anti-Homosexuality Bill!

We the undersigned urge you to stop the Anti-Homosexuality bill from advancing in Uganda.

The bill is utterly discriminatory and, if passed, will instill terror in Uganda that can not be appropriately articulated. The negative affects of this bill will certainly cause pain to thousands of citizens.

We ask you to please not allow such hate to be circulated in Uganda and stop the Anti-Homosexuality bill.

Thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
