Where Is Haiti's Disaster Relief Money?

To Wyclef Jean and Yele Haiti:

Recently the media reported that although your charity for Haitian disaster relief accrued over $16 million in 2010, only a third of that money actually went to Haiti. The rest has been laundered or squandered. Over $1 million dollars alone was given to a "food distributor" that does not exist; the head of this bogus company bought three new properties in Florida, including a waterfront condo. Mr. Jean, how dare you deprive Haiti of the money they so desperately need! How dare you betray the confidence of not only the impoverished survivors but also the philanthropists and humanitarians who wanted to save lives, not buy rich people more condos!

We demand that you pay $16 million plus interest to disaster relief efforts in Haiti. If you fail to comply, you will face the greatest social shaming in all of recorded human history.

Sincerely,

The real Fugees
