Demand for extra help and funding for all single parents and low income families

I'm currently in a position where I'm having to claim universal credits whilst on maternity leave and it's not providing enough to live off. After further research I've realised this is an issue the majority of single parents and low income families are experiencing.
I think the government should look at expenses and provide more for all single parents and low income families to help support them through desperate and hard times.
