Two weeks ago, the dedicated listeners of WXRT awoke to confusion. “Where's my news? Did I miss it? What’s going on?” We came to realize it was not an accident: Mary Dixon was not doing the news, followed by "sports, weather and traffic" at 6:30 anymore. We are also missing the news at 7:30 AND 8:30, so it seems her duties have been cut back to news on the hour, no longer on the half-hour.
At a time when the news and truth are under attack, we depend on WXRT and Mary Dixon to give us the information we need to start our day. Limiting our access to the news during a time of #FakeNews is, well... un-American!
Mary has been a trusted news source for many years. We depend on her wit and intellect to inform and enlighten us every day. We implore the powers that be at WXRT to bring back our news with Mary Dixon. We miss it. We need it. We deserve it.
