STOP The Use Of PRONG Collars On Ambassador Cheetahs!

PRONG/PINCH collars are being used on Ambassador Cheetahs by AZA accredited Zoos and other animal facilities. This is outrageous and cruel!
If cheetahs are deemed too dangerous to have around the public without physically, emotionally and psychologically damaging them with these brutal devices, then cheetahs should NOT be used as ambassador animals at all! Simple as that!

Prong collars are a controversial dog training tool. They consist of metal links that have metal prongs that pinch the skin around the neck when the leash is tugged.

If a Prong or pinch collar is to WORK effectively at all, IT MUST produce a PAINFUL pinch that makes the animal STOP what its doing. Otherwise, they simply would not work!
Prong collars are banned from import into Australia and they are NOT recommended by the RSPCA, other animal welfare organisations such as PETA, and most dog training authorities around the world.

The neck area is incredibly sensitive, and even a flat collar can cause injury to a cat or dog's delicate and important structures in its neck. Cheetahs do not have much fat on them, they are physiologically lean and light. One tug with a prong collar could cause anything from thyroid issues to front leg lameness to eye problems. (see articles below for more info)
Let alone the traumatic psychological effects that lead to learned helplessness and depression!

Ambassador cheetahs are not domesticated animals, they are wild animals that are forcibly habituated and tamed to be man handled, groped and fondled by paying customers after being removed from their mothers as newborns! They live a miserable and inappropriate life of being carted from cage to car, to table, to party, to wedding, to front stage, to table again for photos. The least we can do is STOP using painful and damaging devices such as Prong collars on them!

Sign this petition to demand that Prong collars are banned on Ambassador Cheetahs Now!

This petition will go to these recipients (and more if determined necessary as the campaign continues) -
The Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Bronx Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo, Oklahoma City Zoo, and Columbus Zoo, Jungle Jack Hanna, and the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
