Stop McCormick Ranch's Use of Anti-Bird Nesting Spikes.

In the Paseo del Norte shopping center on every column within the outside walkways there are extremely sharp, needle like spikes facing upward to stop birds from creating nests. I've seen birds stuck in between the spikes making noises of sheer panic and birds who have fallen onto the ground dying from injuries they received such as being impaled or trapped in between the metal spikes.

How is it acceptable for birds to experience mass trauma and cruel deaths because of the city not wanting them to nest on certain structures? Isn't it worse for passerbys to see birds in such pain instead of them alive and well in a nest?

The City of Scottsdale needs to address this issue by taking down the present spikes and cease their use in the future. The lives of birds and any animal shouldn't be overlooked just because of a city's concern with aesthetic appearance.
