Stop British Gas demeaning the true meaning of HERO

British Gas are running a campaign called ‘Local Heroes’, by which they mean plumbers or boiler engineers turning up to private homes to be paid for carrying out their chosen profession. A true HERO is someone who shows great courage, or risks their lives, or sacrifices their lives for the benefit of others. Please stop this inappropriate use of this word. Imagine what someone must feel who has lost a loved one carrying out an heroic deed. If we use HERO in this way what are we then calling to call our true heroes?
