Stop Timber Plantations From Killing Koalas

"Australia is known for its lovable koalas, but its government has let the timber industry destroy thousands of hectares of koala habitat. Timber employees find dead or injured koala as often as two every hours and the Australian government has yet to step in and protect these iconic animals.

Timber plantations in Australia insist on self-regulation to manage their practices, and since no corporation wants to be seen as a koala killer, issues are rarely reported. Before this news report from July 2013, the environmental authorities had never even looked into the timber industry’s treatment of koalas.

Stand with the Rainforest Rescue and tell the Australian governments and environmental authorities to defend the koala."
