Recently I was searching on ebay for "vests" and many of the listings shown were fur products. The country of manufacture, China, has little or no regard for animal welfare issues and the production of fur is a horror story. Many cats,dogs,rabbits and other animals are slaughtered in the most appalling conditions, so much so that I can't even look at the graphic photos and descriptions. Animals are often skinned alive and left to die in piles of bloody bodies. It is truly barbaric and with the ability of synthetics to mimic fur, there is no excuse for this inhumane trade to continue.
The best way to stop the fur trade is to stop the demand, however, purchasers are not always aware of the source and nature of the garments that they can readily order. Ebay is one of the largest outlets internationally for unscrupulous vendors to sell their fur products. The company has the means to ban particular goods from sale on their site, so ask them to step up and take some responsibility towards ending unspeakable suffering for millions of creatures.
